Children are the future entrusted to us. Recognizing them as individuals, respecting their rights, and protecting them from all forms of exploitation—psychological, physical, commercial, etc.—are our primary responsibilities.

To ensure this:

  • We do not employ child labor and expect the same sensitivity from all partners.
  • We provide environments where children can freely express their thoughts and emotions.
  • We train employees on preventing and recognizing child abuse.
  • We ensure adult supervision in all child activities.
  • We organize awareness programs and support projects protecting children's rights.
  • We report suspicious activities involving children to authorities when necessary.
  • For interns under 18, we obtain parental consent and facilitate communication with families.
  • We support local schools for children's education and development.
  • Our spa does not offer massages to guests under 18.
  • We restrict harmful online content accessible to children.
Policy for Disadvantaged Health and Safety
Everyone has the right to a comfortable vacation, which is a necessity. Our priority is ensuring physically accessible rooms and facilities for guests with disabilities. We train staff to provide dedicated service, believing that disadvantages lie in physical spaces, not individuals. We also employ disadvantaged staff, upholding equal opportunities for all.

We embrace the philosophy that disadvantage lies not within the individual but in the physical environment, and we aim to eliminate physical barriers by providing dedicated services tailored to the comfort and convenience of our guests.

We believe that every citizen has the right to work, and in line with this belief, we also employ disadvantaged individuals at our facility.

In summary, our policy is to remove barriers to a comfortable and enjoyable holiday under equal conditions for everyone.

Waste Management

At Gypsophila Club Marine, we define the methods, responsibilities, and authorities for managing all types of waste — solid, liquid, gas, organic, packaging, medical, and hazardous — generated during service and production, with the goal of minimizing environmental harm. We prioritize technologies that produce minimal waste, aim to reduce waste during production, avoid hazardous materials in waste streams, and collaborate with licensed waste transport and recovery companies.

  • Installed 28 waste separation units across the property.
  • Use large-packaged products to reduce waste.
  • Collect and recycle waste with designated bins in all areas.

  • According to statistics, 1.5 billion tons of food are wasted globally each year. Since our hotel operates under an all-inclusive concept, the role of our guests in this matter is significant. Therefore, we aim to raise awareness and reduce food waste by placing visual warning signs on tables that say “Don’t Waste, Save the Future!”

  • We use refillable soap dispensers in the general areas and guest rooms of our hotel. By purchasing in bulk instead of using single-use products, we aim to reduce the amount of packaging waste.
  • The disposal of used oils into drains has been prevented through staff awareness training, and waste oils are collected and disposed of using grease traps. Waste oils from frying processes are collected in a designated waste oil storage unit and are disposed of by authorized companies.
  • To reduce paper consumption, we conduct our internal communications and announcements via email whenever possible. In bars, restaurants, and rooms, we prioritize the use of polycarbonate and porcelain cups and plates instead of paper cups.

Hazardous Waste

Chemicals are used in many areas of daily life to make tasks easier, but their harmful effects can also lead to negative consequences. In our facilities, they are commonly used during maintenance, repair, and cleaning activities. Environmentally conscious cleaning means achieving hygiene while minimizing harm to human health and the environment. Environmentally conscious cleaning means achieving hygiene while minimizing harm to health and the environment. The environmental impact of cleaning can be reduced not only by using eco-friendly cleaning products but also by using these products efficiently and with the correct dosage. In this way, the total environmental damage caused by chemicals can be significantly minimized.

To ensure that the hazardous waste generated in our hotel is disposed of without harming the environment, we collect hazardous waste generated in different departments under appropriate conditions in our hazardous waste storage rooms, label them, and hand them over to licensed companies for proper disposal or recycling in accordance with legal regulations.

It is our priority to ensure that all chemicals we use are approved, labeled, and packaged appropriately, and that we have received their Safety Data Sheets (SDS). The purchasing department is responsible for training employees who will use the chemicals on SDS content, correct dosage and application methods, necessary personal protective equipment, and required safety precautions.

Our chemical storage areas are equipped with necessary safety measures to prevent environmental harm from potential leaks, spills, etc. Chemical storage is carried out according to the type of chemical, the manufacturer's storage instructions, and relevant regulations.

We prefer concentrated products as much as possible. In our pools, housekeeping pantries, and laundry areas, we use automatic dosing systems that ensure hygienic application with minimal chemical usage.

We ensure that the pest control company we outsource uses products that are harmless to human health and the environment. Additionally, we strive to utilize natural preventive methods (such as insect traps, sticky paper, etc.) as much as possible.

We monitor and manage our annual waste quantities using detailed tables and graphs.

In 2024, our per capita mixed packaging waste amount decreased by 6.74% compared to 2023.

Energy Management

One of the most important steps in sustainability is ensuring energy efficiency. By measuring our energy consumption, we identify problems and detect potential areas for savings. We prefer equipment and systems with low energy consumption. Energy savings are continuously analyzed through maintenance, supervision, and monitoring.

Electricity Consumption

We aim to ensure that all electronic products we purchase are energy-efficient and that all our staff receive training on energy saving. The following practices are in place in our hotel to support energy efficiency, and their continuity is ensured:

  • Our hotel has 170 solar panels, resulting in an annual savings of 85,000 m³ LNG.
  • The minibars, TVs, and air conditioners used in the rooms are A++ rated, contributing to energy savings.
  • All rooms are equipped with systems that deactivate heating/cooling devices when the balcony door is opened.
  • To reduce energy use and hazardous waste, energy-saving or LED lighting is used instead of incandescent or mercury-containing bulbs in all rooms and public areas.
  • Hotel-wide outdoor lighting, heating, and cooling systems are controlled via building automation.
  • Motion sensor lighting is used in all applicable guest common areas and in most staff areas.
  • Many areas of the facility are designed to benefit from natural daylight, reducing energy consumption.
  • Electronic key cards are used in all guest rooms.
  • Low standby power consumption TVs are used in our rooms.
  • Staff are trained to close the curtains when guests are not in the room to support energy conservation.
  • Minibars are strategically positioned away from heat sources to optimize energy use.
  • Curtains in unoccupied rooms are kept closed during summer and open during winter to reduce the need for air conditioning and heating.
  • Roller blinds are used in all meeting rooms, restaurants, and bar units to reduce HVAC energy consumption.
  • Air curtains are used at doors opening from air-conditioned areas to terraces, gardens, etc., to prevent cooling losses.
  • All electrical devices undergo regular maintenance and cleaning to minimize potential energy loss.
  • The seals and gaskets of cold storage units, freezers, ice machines, and ovens are checked periodically and replaced if worn out.
  • Cold storage doors are kept open as briefly and infrequently as possible; hot foods are cooled in a blast chiller before being placed in cold storage.
  • Convection cookers are preferred over traditional stoves.
  • Instruction manuals are provided near machines in kitchens and laundries, and staff using these machines are trained and knowledgeable in their operation.

Water Consumption

In our facility, water consumption is significantly high due to daily activities, swimming pools, and living spaces. Therefore, water usage and its control are very important to us.

Without compromising health, hygiene, or guest satisfaction, we aim to reduce overall water consumption by using water-saving equipment, informing our guests, and training our employees on this topic.

The following practices are implemented in our hotel regarding water conservation, and their continuity is ensured:

  • Water flow is restricted by aerators installed on all faucets in guest rooms and public areas. Aerators are inspected regularly and replaced when necessary.
  • The water flow rate is adjusted not to exceed 5 liters per minute for all bathroom sinks and 10 liters per minute for showers in rooms and public areas. Regular measurements are conducted, and any excessive flow is corrected.
  • Visual warning labels are placed in both staff and guest common areas to raise awareness about using water efficiently.
  • In winter 2024, we completely renovated the bathrooms of 49 rooms, equipping showers, sinks, and flush systems with water-saving products. Dual flush systems were installed to limit water use to no more than 6 liters per flush, helping to prevent water waste.
  • Sensor-activated urinals are installed in public restrooms.
  • For garden irrigation, drip and sprinkler systems are used to ensure efficient watering.
  • In guest rooms, towel and bed linen changes are carried out upon guest request. Guests are informed about this policy. If no request is made, changes are done every two days.

In 2024, the total amount spent on energy-saving improvements in hotel common areas and guest rooms was 2,253,232.01 TL.

Preservation of Natural Life

Our hotel is located in a magnificent natural setting where the green slopes of the Beydağları Mountains — the beginning of the Taurus range — meet the blue waters of the Mediterranean. We are fully aware of the living beings that sustain their natural lives in this unique environment and its surroundings, and protecting them is one of our core principles.

By introducing the flora and fauna that inhabit our hotel gardens, nearby seas, and surrounding areas to our guests, we aim to reach people of all nationalities and cultures, inviting them to take part in our efforts to protect natural life. For this purpose, three information boards have been placed along the central walking path of our hotel, displaying the names and images of local plant species, birds, and marine life to help guests observe and learn more about the region's biodiversity.

In addition to protecting the existing wildlife in and around our hotel, we also strive to enrich and diversify natural life by raising and caring for animals such as guinea fowl, roosters, chickens, ducks, and rabbits.

Ensuring that our guests better understand and gain knowledge about our region is a top priority for us. Additionally, our guests staying at the hotel are among our most important stakeholders, as we jointly advance the sustainability movement and shape our services based on their feedback.

For this reason, there is an information board in our guest area that introduces the endemic plants and animals of the region, explains our community guidelines, and highlights the importance of preserving our cultural heritage.

Animals Are Our Friends

Birdhouses handcrafted by our hotel’s carpenter were placed on trees to provide shelter for birds in our region and support the protection of natural life. Additionally, shelters were built for the cats and rabbits living on our premises to meet their housing needs. To ensure proper care, a staff member has been assigned as the "Zoo Responsible," and a veterinarian has been contracted for weekly health checks of the animals under our care. Our operation is aware of activities that may disturb wildlife and their habitats. Therefore, to avoid encroaching on the seagulls’ areas, informational signs are posted on the restaurant terrace to raise guest awareness.

Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage

To provide our guests with the best introduction to Antalya — which boasts over 400 ancient cities, historical sites, and numerous natural heritage areas — we have prepared a brochure. This brochure includes a map of cultural sites accessible via bike paths, encouraging our guests to use these routes in order to protect nature. Through this, we aim to involve our guests in reducing the carbon footprint we leave on the environment.

  • While introducing our cultural heritage to guests and staff, we also provide information on how to protect these sites and what precautions should be taken. For this purpose, we have placed detailed informational panels about Sustainable Tourism in both guest and staff areas.

  • We carefully introduce our unique Turkish culture and traditions to our guests through landscaping, food presentation, beverage service, and decorations in common areas. Additionally, our animation team’s program includes activities such as oriental dance classes, Turkish language lessons, and making çiğköfte, allowing our guests to experience and engage with our culture firsthand.

  • In the market located within our hotel, which is operated by our tenant, a dedicated section has been created featuring products related to Turkish culture such as coffee, Turkish delight, tea, spices, and more. This area serves to introduce and sell cultural products to our guests.

Other Activities to Protect the Environment

  • Double-glazed windows are preferred in guest rooms and common areas to provide thermal insulation.
  • To prevent guests from throwing away books, magazines, and newspapers they have read or no longer want, we created a bookshelf in the reading area inside the Happy Moment Dessert Bar.
  • Guests’ medical waste, such as used syringes and empty medicine boxes, are collected by trained staff in a manner that does not harm people or the environment.
  • Guests are encouraged to use public transportation during city tours and are provided with route information.
  • Time control panels are used in saunas to prevent unnecessary energy consumption.
  • Being aware of our contribution to the local economy, most of the products we procure come from local markets.
  • All wastewater from our hotel is connected to Wastewater Treatment Plants.
  • Fire extinguishers and industrial cold storage rooms in our hotel do not use CFC (Chlorofluorocarbon) gases, which are harmful to the ozone layer.
  • To protect nature and reduce carbon emissions, we provide our guests with electric Club Car vehicles to travel anywhere they wish within the hotel. Our staff also use electric bicycles for work.
  • Dirty linens are washed by Mavi Safir company to save water and energy. For uniforms washed within the hotel, we have acquired A+++ energy-efficient washing machines.
  • To contribute to the variety of trees in our hotel and raise environmental awareness among our guests, we organize annual tree planting events on April 23rd with our child guests in the hotel garden.
  • We do our best to protect and maintain the trees within the hotel. Trees damaged due to weather conditions are cut down with the approval of District Agriculture and Forestry Ministry teams and are repurposed in various landscaping areas within the hotel to return them to nature.
  • Avoiding environmental harm is one of our most important principles. Therefore, we recycle car tires—which are almost impossible to decompose naturally—by using them decoratively. Additionally, we display a sign on the beach board showing how many years it takes for various wastes to decompose in the sea to raise environmental awareness among our guests.

  • At the Happy Moment Dessert Bar, we promote recycling by repurposing glass liquor bottles and unused porcelain mugs for decorative purposes.

Our Greenhouse Gas Emissions

At our hotel, data such as annual energy consumption, vehicle mileage and fuel consumption, water consumption and wastewater volumes, generated waste amounts, number of guests, and per capita overnight stays are monitored. Using this data and more, the carbon footprint is calculated with an Excel tool prepared by the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance for tourism activities. The carbon footprint calculation results are evaluated and updates are made accordingly.

We achieve this by fully considering the current and future economic, social, and environmental impacts of our activities, minimizing these impacts, and continually improving while adhering to established targets. We provide regular training and awareness for our employees, comply with relevant national and legal obligations, fulfill international requirements, and strive to be an exemplary facility for the development of sustainable tourism in the industry.

Our Environmental Policy
AT GYPSOPHILA CLUB MARINE, WE CONSIDER ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH EQUIVALENT TO HUMAN HEALTH.

In line with this, we aim to foresee and take relevant measures for the potential environmental impacts in all our activities, increase environmental awareness, control our natural resource consumption and waste generation, reduce environmental pollution, use environmentally friendly products, and preserve environmental balance and biodiversity. We continually improve while carrying out these activities in line with established targets, provide regular training for our employees to raise environmental awareness, comply with relevant national and international legal obligations, ensure the reduction of occupational health and safety risks, facilitate consultation and participation of employees and employee representatives, and aim to be an exemplary facility for environmental consciousness in the industry.

Waste Management
At Gypsophila Club Marine, we determine the methods, authorities, and responsibilities for the safe disposal of all solid, liquid, gas, organic, packaging, medical, and hazardous wastes that arise during service provision and production stages, with the least harm to the environment. We select technologies that produce the least solid waste, reduce the amount of solid waste in our current production, ensure that harmful waste substances are not present in solid waste, and work with waste carriers/disposal companies for the evaluation and material recovery of solid waste. Our staff is informed about the importance of waste separation, and the separation process is monitored by waste separation departments.

Sufficient waste bins are placed throughout the facility to enable guests to separate their waste. We collaborate with relevant companies for the recycling of these separated wastes and ensure proper follow-up.

Separate bins have been placed in each section for the separate collection and recycling of recyclable waste, and the importance of the matter is constantly emphasized to the staff. Instead of single-use breakfast products, we purchase products in larger packaging containers to reduce packaging waste.

Refillable soap dispensers are used in the common areas of our hotel. The disposal of used oils into drains has been prevented through staff awareness training, and waste oils are collected and disposed of through oil separators. Waste cooking oils used in frying are accumulated in a waste oil collection depot for proper disposal.

To reduce paper consumption, we conduct our correspondence and announcements via email whenever possible. We strive to use polycarbonate and porcelain cups and plates instead of paper cups in bars and restaurants.

Hazardous Waste
To ensure the environmentally safe disposal of hazardous waste generated in our hotels, we collect, label, and deliver hazardous waste from our departments to designated hazardous waste rooms under suitable conditions, for proper disposal or evaluation by licensed companies in accordance with legal requirements. We have designated waste battery containers at various points within the hotel to prevent environmental harm.

We control the amount of hazardous waste. We make sure that the materials we use contain no hazardous substances whenever possible, and those that do contain hazardous substances are disposed of properly.

Chemical substances are used in various areas of our lives, making our lives easier, but they can also have harmful effects and lead to negative consequences. We use chemicals in maintenance-repair activities and cleaning operations in our facilities. Cleaning in an environmentally conscious manner means being able to clean hygienically while minimizing negative impacts on health and the environment. The damage to the environment can be significantly reduced not only by using environmentally friendly cleaning products but also by using them sparingly and adjusting the dosage properly. This way, the overall harm of chemicals to the environment can be greatly reduced.

It is our priority that all chemicals we use are approved, labeled, and in suitable packaging and that we have access to Safety Data Sheets (SDS). The employees who handle chemicals are trained by the purchasing department on the usage of chemicals, information in the SDS, the quantity and methods of use, personal protective equipment requirements, and necessary precautions.

Our chemical storage facilities are equipped with the necessary measures to prevent leaks, spills, and other incidents that could harm the environment. Chemical storage is done in accordance with the type of chemical, the storage instructions of the manufacturer, and regulations.

We collaborate with relevant companies for the safe disposal of chemicals and track chemical waste. We control the usage of chemicals and provide staff training to prevent wasteful and incorrect usage of chemicals. We prefer concentrated products whenever possible. In our pools, we use automatic dosing systems that use minimal amounts of chemicals for appropriate hygienic practices.

For pest control services we receive from external companies, we ensure that the pesticides used are safe for human health and the environment. We strive to rely more on natural measures (flycatchers, adhesive paper, etc.).

In our chemical storage areas, we use leak-proof trays on all shelves to ensure proper chemical containment.

- The curtains of unoccupied rooms are kept closed during the summer season and open during the winter season to reduce the usage of climate control devices.

- Stor curtains are used in all meeting rooms, restaurants, and bar units to save energy from air conditioning.

- Cooling air curtains are used on doors opening from general areas where the cooling system operates, such as terraces, gardens, etc.

- Regular maintenance and cleaning of all electrical devices are carried out to minimize potential energy losses.

- The wicks and gaskets of cold units, freezers, ice machines, and ovens are periodically checked, and worn-out ones are replaced.

- Efforts are made to minimize the opening of cold unit doors for short periods and less frequently. Hot food is cooled in Blast Chillers before being placed in cold units.

- Convectional stoves are preferred over traditional stoves.

- Machines used in the kitchen and laundry areas have usage instructions, and our employees are knowledgeable about the machine operation.

- Electricity consumption is reduced thanks to frequency inverters in heating system pumps, hydro pumps, and main air conditioning units.

Water Consumption
Water consumption is significant in our facility due to daily activities, swimming pools, and living areas. Therefore, water usage and control are important to us.

To reduce general water consumption without compromising health, hygiene, and guest satisfaction, we use water-saving equipment, provide information to our guests on the topic, and educate our employees.

The following practices related to water savings are implemented and maintained in our hotel:
- Aerator attachments are installed on all room and general area faucets to limit water flow. Regular checks are conducted on aerators and they are replaced when necessary.

- The water flow rate of all room and general area sink faucets is adjusted not to exceed 5 liters per minute, and not to exceed 10 liters per minute in showers. Regular measurements are conducted, and corrective actions are taken if high flow rates are detected.

- Water-saving and/or dual-flush systems are used in guest and employee restrooms, ensuring that water consumption does not exceed 6 liters per flush. Additionally, visual labels are placed in employee and guest common areas to encourage water-saving practices.

- Sensor-operated urinals are installed in public restrooms.

- Drip and sprinkler systems are utilized for irrigation in our gardens.

- Towel and sheet changes in rooms are carried out based on guest requests, and guests are provided with information on this matter. If there is no specific guest request, towel and sheet changes are done every two days.

Annual Energy Consumption quantities and Per Capita Consumption quantities for the years 2021-2022 are shown in the following graphs.

Conservation of Natural Life
Our hotel is located in a magnificent natural environment where the greenery of the Beydağları Mountains, which mark the beginning of the Taurus Mountains, intersects with the blue waters of the Mediterranean. We are aware of the living beings that sustain their natural lives in this unique environment and its surroundings, and protecting them is our most important principle.

In order to involve guests from all nations and nationalities in our activities aimed at preserving natural life, we introduce them to all living beings in our hotel's garden, sea, and surroundings. For this purpose, three panels have been created and placed along the walking path, which is located at the central point of our hotel, to allow our guests to see and learn about the flora, birds, and marine creatures in our region.

In addition to doing our best to protect the existing living beings in our hotel, we also feed and raise animals such as roosters, hens, chickens, and rabbits to enrich and increase the diversity of the natural life.

Our Friend Homeless Animals
In order to provide shelter for the birds living in our region and our hotel, and to preserve natural life, bird nests were produced by our hotel's carpenter and hung on trees, allowing the birds to find a home. Additionally, we built cat houses for the cats living in the hotel to meet their shelter needs.

Other Activities to Protect the Environment
- Double-glazed windows were chosen for thermal insulation purposes in rooms and common areas.

- Guests are informed not to throw away books, magazines, and newspapers they have read and wish to dispose of. Instead, they are encouraged to leave them in our hotel's reading area. Similarly, guests are directed to select books, magazines, and newspapers they wish to read from our library.

- Our trained staff collects medical waste, syringes, and empty medicine boxes in a way that does not harm the environment or humans.

- Guests are recommended to use public transportation during city tours and are provided with information about routes.

- Time control panels are used in saunas to prevent unnecessary energy consumption.

- We are aware of our contribution to the local economy, therefore a large portion of the products we procure are sourced from the local market.

- All wastewater from our hotel is connected to Waste Water Treatment Facilities.

- Drip irrigation is implemented in all possible areas of the garden.

- No ozone-depleting CFC (Chlorofluorocarbon) gases are used in fire extinguishers and industrial cold storage rooms in our hotel.

- To protect nature, preserve the environment, and reduce carbon emissions, we transport our guests to their desired locations using electric Club Car vehicles. Additionally, our staff uses electric bicycles for their work.

- Dirty laundry is washed by Mavi Safir company to save water and energy.

- To contribute to the diversity of trees in our hotel and raise environmental awareness among our guests, tree planting activities are carried out in the hotel garden every year on April 23rd, together with our child guests.

Staff Environmental Activities and Drills
As part of our annual training programs, our employees receive environmental education. The trainings cover topics such as reducing the consumption of natural resources, waste reduction and proper separation, procedures for hazardous waste, and conservation of natural life. The trainings are conducted both internally and externally. Through periodic training provided by our Environmental Officer, all our employees have been raised awareness about environmental issues. Additionally, we aim to raise awareness among employees who use chemicals by receiving chemical training from our supplier companies to standardize chemical consumption. Awareness has also been increased through training sessions from the Vegetable Waste Oil Company, which emphasize the importance of the environmental impact and proper collection of waste oil. Measures are taken to prevent any harm to the thousands of trees in our facilities in case of a fire. In this context,

- Fire training has been provided to our employees.
- Emergency teams have been formed.
- Fire drills have been organized.

Before the opening of each season, a tradition has been established to organize a hotel perimeter cleaning activity involving both staff and administrative personnel to instill awareness of environmental protection and nature conservation.
